ANNOUNCEMENT

The Faculty of Law, Criminal Law Department of the State University of Moldova is organizing on the 7th and 8th of December 2023:

INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE

“CRIME – CRIMINAL LIABILITY – PUNISHMENT. LAW AND CRIMINOLOGY,”

3rd Edition

The objective of the conference is to provide a platform for scientific and practical discussions in the field of criminal sciences (criminal law, criminology, victimology, criminal enforcement law, criminal procedural law, forensic science, comparative law etc.) in order to exchange opinions and knowledge and also to seek answers to the latest questions that concern both doctrinaires and practitioners who apply criminal law or are dedicated to the mission of crime prevention and combat. More than that, the upcoming event aims to address the challenges of implementing justice reform in the criminal sphere, in light of the objectives outlined in the Strategy for Ensuring the Independence and Integrity of the Justice Sector for the years 2022-2025: Ensuring Stability and Clarity of Criminal Law.

Representatives from the academic community in the Republic of Moldova and other countries, public authorities, theorists, practitioners, members of civil society, experts, young researchers, and anyone interested in the conference’s topics are expected to attend.

Key topics proposed for discussion:

– Analyzing the deficiencies/vulnerabilities characterizing the field of criminal sciences and identifying measures for their remediation.

– Evaluating the criminogenic phenomenon in relation to the seriousness of the incriminated acts and the established punishments, based on disaggregated statistical data.

– Identifying, including from a jurisprudential perspective, provisions that generate inconsistent interpretations.

– Examining the latest modifications and amendments made in the legislation.

Working languages: Romanian, English, Russian.

The works presented at the conference will be published in a separate collection.

Deadlines:

• November 20, 2023: Submission of the completed participation form to the organizers. Complete the participation form for the conference here.
• December 1, 2023: Receipt of conference papers, drawn up in accordance with the formatting requirements, at the email address: conferinta.penal@gmail.com
• December 5-6, 2023: Sending the conference program to participants and the event access link.

The conference will be conducted in a hybrid format.
